One thing that doesn’t seem to get talked about much, is the fact that a beer being on Twitter, is a direct violation of the Brewers Institute advertising guidelines. With no ability to check age, all of these breweries are going to be in the line of fire when the FTC comes knocking this year, looking to make some examples out of alcohol brands who aren’t following the rules. Even Michelob (one of the only big brewers out there on Twitter), bowed out last week. Which other smaller breweries should take note of.

As far as social networking for beer, I currently use untappd.com. This allows me to keep tract of the beer that I drink. Untappd.com can link to facebook, twitter, and foursquare.
